It's getting "hot"!

We recently started to use a data logger for the temperature to monitor the conditions in our coral garden.

Temperature is an important parameter in corals growth and health, so it crucial for us to record any relevant variation that might influence the development of our coral fragments.

We are downloading the data from the past months and the overview doesn't look promising...

The water has been a lot warmer than the average temperature for September and October in North Ari Atoll, in the Maldives.

"Normal" temperature would be around 28°C but our plot shows a different story....

In the example that we provide, you can see how the water is warmer, with the temperature stable around 30°C for days.

We will match these data with the information we have about our corals in the nurseries, to assess the effect the temperature is having on their growth.

We are deploying another data logger on one of the nurseries of our Coral Garden.

We will keep you posted!
