We are happy to share, once again, the results of our temperature monitoring at the Feridhoo coral nurseries for this month.
This time, our HOBO temperature loggers recorded data every 2 hours (instead of 1 hour), 24 hours a day, from November 21st to December 21st, at both our tree and rack coral nurseries.
We are pleased to report that temperatures this month were slightly lower compared to the previous one. The overall average temperature recorded was 29.5°C, with a range between 29.8°C (maximum recorded) and 28.6°C (minimum recorded). Temperatures did not exceed 30°C, unlike last month when they approached 31°C.
The graphs below show the daily average temperatures:
The hottest days recorded at the “Tree Nursery” were November 21st and 23rd (29.8°C), while the lowest temperature was recorded on December 21st (28.7°C). At the “Rack Nursery,” we experienced 6 consecutive “hot” days (29.7°C) from November 21st to 26th. For the rack nursery, the lowest temperature was also recorded on December 21st (28.6°C).
We have redeployed our temperature loggers, this time alongside a new HOBO Temperature/Light logger, which will provide valuable information on light intensity at our nurseries.
Here’s to next month’s updates from our project—stay tuned!
